During Star Wars Celebration 2022, the first look at Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Disney+ series was shown. Ahsoka Tano is a beloved character in the galaxy far, far away, thanks to her creation by Dave Filoni and George Lucas for Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
For the second season of The Mandalorian, Ahsoka Tano was voiced by Ashley Eckstein, but Dawson was cast as the live-action version of the character.
Also, she appeared in The Book of Boba Fett for a brief time. There’s also a spinoff show because of her role in The Mandalorian.
After Dawson’s debut, Lucasfilm announced plans for an Ahsoka series on Disney+ in 2020. A joint effort between Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, the series was created. Despite the lack of plot details, Ahsoka began filming in May 2022.
As a result of her appearance in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, she continued the quest she began in Star Wars Rebels to find Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn. Hayden Christensen is expected to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming series, which will star Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine.
While Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni did not reveal much about Ahsoka at the beginning of Star Wars Celebration 2022, they did so during the Mando+ panel. The brief Ahsoka teaser featured Ahsoka Tano on a ship and live-action appearances by Hera Syndula and Ezra Bridger, both from Star Wars Rebels.
The first footage of Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren was also shown in this episode. Ahsoka will be available on Disney+ in 2023, as previously announced.
